Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I was wondering if anyone has used an USB 1.1 to scsi connector for cf drive on a 2000 classic. I've seen other post and it seems to miss the point. I'm not trying to plug in computer I just want more storage of my stuff.

I don't know about the 2000, but on my 2000XL and 3000LE I can use the external Microtech (not IOMEGA!!!) SCSI to USB cable to connect to a computer and transfer files. The key is having an internal SCSI drive in your MPC for this to work.

You would have to get the flash drive kit for the 2000

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BL2Ld9iXTWo

The flash drive kit utilizes the scsi port but allows you to save and load from a digital card verses a zip disk. It's also hot swappable.

It's a large unit but much faster when compared to loading files off of a zip drive.

There is also the option of installing a USB floppy emulator:

However, unlike the 2000XL it does not work as a card reader. The USB floppy emulator simply allows you to boot and load from a USB. Sounds nice until you realize that it can only save and load 1.44mb of data like the normal floppy disk. Thus, the name floppy emulator.

On my 2000 I use the flash drive kit.

I have the floppy emulator I use mainly to boot up the OS and I load drum kits on it when I use midi. I just want a scsi to simplify when I just use the mpc by itself. The thing is I've seen USB 1.1 to scsi connectors and wanted to see if I can use the cf card reader using that cord.

The prices on them flash kits I been thinking I might as well get an internal reader and ship it to Forat. Or find someone in the area to install one right.
