Oh and major props on building a business on what some people would call 'outdated' gear. You helped breathe life into gear that might have otherwise just added to the landfill, given more equal footing to those with ideas other than the latest and greatest corporate sales pitch, and therefore helped increased harmonious vibrations amidst all the noise.

Thank you very much for the kind words and good wishes! Believe me, I hate to close up shop but unfortunately, it just got to the point where the parts needed to build our drives were just no longer available. For those of you who were not able to get a drive while we still had them, I apologize and wish that I could have helped you.

Like most of you, I love the older samplers and believe they sound so much better than the software samplers available these days. Of course, those have their place and can be really cool if used properly but the fact remains that nothing compares with a real hardware sampler or beat box. I plan to still be using my MPC2000 Classic, MPC2000XL, Akai S5000, EMU ESI-4000 and Kurzweil K2500 for years to come. I think I'll probably be cremated with them so that we can make music together for eternity.

Much thanks to everyone who helped keep my little enterprise running. I very much hope that I helped you make some music along the way.

Damn it!! Sorry to hear this JD. Good luck with your future ventures. Will MPC stuff be selling SCSI card readers anytime soon? I was just about to buy one from you and kinda stuck now!!

What happened to the hot-swappable IDE CF reader you were going to sell? Was it vaporware?

The ATAPI hot swappable card reader is currently being debugged by the manufacturer and it still may end up being a viable product. I did sell a couple of the prototypes to XL owners and they worked great, but the first production batch had hardware issues that forced me to pull them off the market. Basically, it boiled down to poor soldering .

The manufacturer is working on the problems and I'll announce here if they end up being available.

Sorry to see you go. Bought a card reader from you years back and it completely extended the usefulness of my ASR-10.

I gotta agree with you that the old hardware samplers have a charm of their own that the softies cant replicate. I know that these parts are getting harder to come by, but hopefully we'll see you or others back in action, keeping these machine relevant like the classic analog synth community has done.
