Resoldering a new data cable to lcd screen from akai dps 12,

The screen from the DPS 12 did not respond when i inserted the data cable
onto the XL.

That's because the cable is inverted

Let's hope you have not damaged something in trying that

Jazzcat succeeded in taking the lcd screen from an akai dps12 hard disk recorder and resoldering and inverting the data cable to operate in my 2000xl.

He does a great job and has fast service!

I need to find a spare ribbon to do this one so it may take a while longer

Sadly this was just a mod to get a dps screen in an xl

The ribbon is too short and is inverted.

The mod is just removing the ribbon and desoldering a longer one on the flip.

The screen still looks the same though

Can someone please point me to a Pic of this inverted Flex Cable? Maybe lame but the word inverted can mean many things in electronics. Im about to do the job and I dont want to make an error..
