Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By Music_Major Thu Jun 06, 2013 6:34 pm
I have a perfect lcd screen that I acquired from an akai dps12 that i want
to swap into an mpc 2000xl but I need the white data cable soldered onto the replacement screen.

Where could i get this done at?

unfortunately the data cable from the dps12 isnt as long as the mpc's or i couldve just used that one

Thanks Lamp!

To be honest I have not tried it before but I don't remember it looking all that hard for someone with soldering experience.

In any case I think I would be inclined to check out an extension option.

Either way I am sure it can be done

The DPS just has an inverted ribbon

Hi,
You can use ribbon from old ( dead)Mpc 2000xl screen
As a extension,
Desolder from screen board and as a inverted
Solder to dps12 ribbon ,
Takes around 10 min and you have got nearly new screen
For AKaI MPC2000xl for bargain.

But be cearfully when you solder directly to the screen
That lines coming off very EASLY ,
But you know how to do it:)))
