Just a little update on the M.O drives.
I've managed to get one to work internally in my S3000 after a bit of fiddling about.
I had to cut the plastic notch off the internal 50 pin scsi cable and reverse it and now it works perfectly.
Hopefully this may help anyone searching the internet with similar problems.
so now I've got a internal M.O drive in the S3000 and a external scsi drive with a M.O for the Mpc 2000 which both work great.
My old hard drive for the mpc seemed to make it freeze and crash a lot but, the M.O drive doesnt.
It's made saving my stuff a lot less hassle and I quite like having a smaller capacity drive to save on, cus with the 2000 not having folders it can get a bit confusing, so I have 6 partitions on each disk and use one partition per song.
Quite a lot of time and effort went into it, but it was cheaper than buying a cf reader, so if your a cheep scape like me  it's worth it.
Plus Magneto Optical is such a cool comic book name for anything so, I'm totally chuffed.
Many thanks for all the help and advice from everyone on here.
Bigups.
