Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Yes, that's what I'm doing. 4K is too much for me. I would like my MP to be portable (a bit), and do some basic stuff. I don't use CD-ROM, need 2 MIDI outs, don't use six banks or 96 kHz.

I'm gonna grab 2K Original.

I guess, what Martian said, I want to keep it simple, fun and just want to try it.
Also - an artist who inspired me a lot used it in his best tracks, in my opinion.

I always loved those 90's drums. Yep, I know - 12 bit etc. But it is partly to MP as well, and I believe 2K classic is closer to this sound. I heard about a great "jogwheel" as well.

(Still debating a bit about 2K XL, but I think I'll do what I said).

Feature and funtion-wise, you will regret this decision,

I bought 2000 XL. Don't have it yet. I felt 2K was more like an instrument than 4K when I had some time sitting with it. And I have other equipment to use it with as well.

And I make beats in 2 places so wanted it portable...
