EB16 suddenly not recognised

Hello

My MPC2KXL is suddenly not recognising/finding my EB16 FX board!

It just says "Effect board is not installed" when I select FX Edit.

Could it really have just fritzed out spontaneously without warning?! Has anybody else ever heard of this happening? Could it be the motherboard and not the FX card?

I've uninstalled and reinstalled it.

Looks like it was a "mechanical" issue. I did a thorough re-install/re-fitting. Loosened and retightened neighbouring boards and fittings. Noticed that without the screw the EB16 screw hole didn't align well with its seating. I guess over the years these things get bent out of shape and warped and the whole MPCs normal tightened up state of everything now means the board is just pulled out of its socket? I had that with a PC chassis once. Whenver you tightened up the case the soundcard would pop out!

I also blasted everything with air, straightened up some caps in case they were shorting (unlikely) etc

It could still be an intermittet electronic issue I guess. We'll see.
