Cable for scsicardreaders.com CF card reader

Got a 2kxl off craigslist that came with a scsicardreaders.com CF card reader installed. The MPC tested out great with an external Zip drive but the seller said he was never able to get the card reader to work. When I opened it up it only had one (b&r power?) cable plugged into it. I'm thinking it just needs a 50pin female to female scsi cable and maybe it'll work? ( https://www.ebay.com/itm/18-SCSI-I-II-I ... UMpS3qs6KA ) Anyone have any experience with these, am I missing something? Thanks!

You are not missing anything. I don't have an mpc2000 but have a Roland vs1680 and akai s5000 and have built a couple of external scsi boxes with the 7720u card and ide drives.
As you say, you need a scsi data cable from the 7720u to the mpc
and I would assume there is a 50 pin male connector on the mpc board. A power cable alone won't do it.

It does look like you are missing a 50pin female to female SCSI ribbon cable.
What does the power cable connections look like going to the motherboard?
