how do you use cut/paste

can some one explain to me how to use the cut /paste function in the step recording,i figured out how to use the insert, but can't figure out how to use the paste key,i would really appreciate the help thanks.....oh yeah this is on the mpc 2kxl

I think you can copy, delete, move to where you want.. paste.

just goto a step that has a note and hit the copy button. Then goto a new beat and press paste. Then it will ask, are you sure you want to paste (or something like that), and then you press 'do it'. was that what you were wondering about? doesnt seem that hard.
