saving effect settings (in a pgm)

cant seem to be able to do this...thought I was following the manual to the letter. Can someone run me thru the process

(yes I have the eb, and yes it works fine)

did you resave the program after setting the FX's? I got the eb and haven't had this problem, mine always saved along with the program.
