I'm just curious to know if anyone else uses their MPC in a similar fashion. Basically, I'll write a short sequence that's looped with various tracks, whether sampled or triggered from my keyboard. Then I will create a song on the fly by using the pads to mute tracks on and off. I will also fade and mute tracks from my Mackie mixer.

I've considered creating a whole sequenced song on the MPC, but then that would take the fun out of the performance based way that I'm doing now. Plus, I'm always coming up with new parts just by experimenting. When I feel a song is completed, I'll rehearse it until it sounds right and then I'll record it onto 2 audio tracks.

I just wanted to know if anyone else works this way and if they'd like to share some tips and tricks. I don't have the 8 out board yet, but I would imagine it would be an invaluable tool for this method.
