At the 2.5 minute mark I realized there wasn't anything new about it at all and stopped the video. Maybe granular time stretching is new to Spectrasonics but it's been available (in other much better software) for years.


You say there is much better software that's been doing this for years... what are they? Would like to know about them too.

If you don't see the value in this... I don't know what to tell you. If the folks at Akai focused on making the MPC a top-notch instrument like these dudes do, instead of adding all this DAW nonsense, we'd all be SO MUCH better off.
