I'm trying to use an MPK249 to playback my hardware synth modules that don't have keys of their own. The interface I'm using is an RME Fireface 800. I have 4 hardware modules (2x JP8080, 1x Volca Keys, 1x Volca Bass)
In terms of keeping everything in sync with FL Studio's Master Clock & sequencing, would it be better to run a Kenton MIDI Thru-5 box from the RME interface & out to the modules....OR..... would it be best to buy a separate USB MIDI Interface from MOTU?
99% of the time, all I'd be doing would be sequencing the modules with FL Studio & would want them to stay in time, especially if there were arpeggios being used.
RME interface -> Kenton MIDI Thru 5 -> hardware modules with MPK249 connected via USB as master keyboard
-or-
hardware modules -> MOTU usb midi interface with MPK249 connected via USB as master keyboard
