Search didn't help. I guess this a lil bit specific situation.

mpc1000 with akai os 2.13.
Just bought 8 gb kingston 133x compact flash card.
Insert cf card in akai's cf reader.
Usb to laptop.
Switch on mpc - load - usb.
Laptop define MPC1000 memory card USB device.
But when I try to open this drive in explorer its just freezing Windows and dont open it at all. After a few minuts after click on H: drive it bring error 'File or folder is corrupt'
Then realise I need to format card in MPC. Did it.
But when plug into PC - same shit.
It show H: drive, but dont open it.
Using another laptop give same results.

I think maybe problem in akai os ? I want to install JJ, but without card its no sense. So, card is not reading and its dead circle(.
Or I need to format this card in PC ?

there is any way to fix it?
maybe not by myself. go to audio spec technic store or something like this?

Ok. option for 125$ + shipping to far fukin Russia isn't good for me ).
So, what your said.

I can use method like this:
JUKE 179r: "I tore into an older USB card reader (about $7) and unsoldered the longer pin from the compact flash card slot. it was a b!tch since the solder points for the pin are so microscopic. It takes a pair of tweezers, a soldering pen with a thin tip, a steady hand and just a dab of solder to do it."

Another words: take a old usb reader and unsoldered one pin from it, then try to soldering it to my mpc cf ? sorry for my english.

This is what the CF connector looks like...

You would be taking one of the gold pins out of one and putting it into the existing MPC CF connector, to replace the broken pin, or you would be replacing the whole connector, if you can find one as a spare part, and if you can de-solder/solder it well enough to prevent damage to the PCB and/or solder bridges.

The pins are under the metal cover on the MPC1000 memory slot/headphone PCB...

Yeah, this jentleman JUKE 179r made it my himself. This method I quoted above of this thread.
I guess it's not very difficult by far if your choose method of solder/unsolder just pins, not the whole plate.

i also busted a pin in my card reader months ago and had no luck fixing it and am about to try again... did you have to take it apart then take it in to the shop or did the dis-assemble the mpc for you? I'm a little scared to take it apart myself bc i don't want to mess it up but without the card reader working i can't get any samples anyone have any ideas
