Best way to record MPC to FL Studio?

What's up yall, I'm trying to simply play and record my MPC through FL, but there's something that's bothering me.

When I play the MPC hooked up to my interface through line in then turn on the audio track for FL Studio's line in (the line from the MPC through the interface,) I hear it two times, and it really throws me off.
This means that Windows is always monitoring the sound even with FL closed, I can still hear the MPC. FL does only record the one playback, but I'm assuming this is because Windows is monitoring the track regardless I muted it in recording options.

What are some other options I have to record without hearing double? Thanks.

well that depends on the interface options... you are somehow monitoring twice by the sound of it.

I'm plugging the MPC to my interface's line in on and the interface is connected through USB. I'm thinking the only thing I can do is listen to the MPC through the headphone port and just not listen to the sound output of Windows.

what interface do you have... and what are the audio settings in fl studio? what driver do you have selected?
