artifacts through resampling

hey! so i want to create artifacts in my samples doing what they used to do on the sp1200 by pitching the sample up 7db, resampling it, and pitch down 7 db. boom artifacts. how do i do this on my akai mpc 1000? please. i dont really know how to resample on it anyways.

So idk if im wrong or not. But i basically create a sequence. Press (window + record). I switch from analog to main out and record the main out. Whatever i record i have pitched up 7db. Once i record it again then i pitc it back down 7 to complete
