i removed my cf card the other day due to the damn thing freezing on me 
and ever give the mpc 1000 freezes when in the load screen and my old cf card was left blank and my mac freezes very often now. i got new cf cards from my dad and they are the same size 4gb different brand lexar professional vs old sandisk extreme iii and from the info I've gathers mac only takes type i and ii but the sandisk is iii. anyways the lexar cards don't read anything and i can't get past the load screen to format them to put in my own samples. plz help i think my mic is broken.
