Just purchased my MPC1000 (Brand New) and have a couple OS questions:
1. How can I tell which OS is currently on my MPC. I would thing it would be the 1.07, but I have a patch pharse option.
2. Should I first learn the OS that came with it because I assume that the instruction manuals would change slightly.
3. I heard that sample reverse was included in OS 2.??

Any info will help me out.

Nice Chart... I will include it in the next manual release. A few more changes / additions to jj os 4.xx:

- AUTOCHOP Samples
- Improved Sample Editor (I would never go back)
- Updated Sample Browser and Sample-Assignment
- Customizable Click Sounds (not quite sure if that's JJ only - confirm plz)
- GRID EDIT
- GLOBAL PROGRAM EDIT
- Added delay to FX 2
- RECORDABLE TRACK MUTES
- Sliced samples in STEREO / Patched Phrase Mono (vice versa in Akai OS!)
- Advanced Q-Link Support (Swing, TC etc.) I love it!
- MIDI Program Change (what is that for anyway?)
- MTC / MMC support
- Reworked GUI

that's all i can think of in the moment...

Okay, here is the Part of the coming manual with the OS Comparison chart. It's based on Mr. Modnars Chart but I added some stuff.

PLZ, check if everything is right, if I missed something or did something wrong, before I release it

PS: Make sure u flip the page clockwise for better reading...

Yup $30 or similar, well worth it.

On the JJ OS you can record audio on track 57 and up in the same way as you would on a DAW or a tape machine. You can control the audio you have assigned to pads on any other track.
