1k or 2kxl?

1k or 2kxl?

ok im stuck again just cant decide
a 1k or 2kxl thatis the ?.my boy took his 1k back yesterday and loaned me the money so i can get mine.then another freind of mine offered me his 2kxl for about the same price. but i cant decide. options: i have a s3000 and like the 2kxl cause i can midi dump sounds back and forth thats why i like the 2kxl with the editor .but i like the xl cause its smaller and comes wit more standard optons. i figured i could sell my s3000 and build a pc based synth/sample station to accompany the 1k but then latency problems came up ( i want precise trigger timing when i make beats adn pc based synth\samplers have that late hit). so basically im gonna let yall decided for me and live with it. i plan to buy on monday so from now till then i will tally up ur suggestions and votes and thats what i will get.... its up to yall cause my brain is now hurting trying to make this decision......... comments from richard,roopesh,mpc3000 will be looked forward to but everyone please help me

get the 2000xl. why? because you are already experienced with the mpc. You know what you need and believe me, you cant go wrong with the 2k.

I have 1k and its good for me because i do most of my sequencing on the computer. 1k works better for me.

its really left to what you want to use your mpc for. neither one is bad.

thats just like comparing xbox for psII. arguable the xbox has more power but then again PSII has the best games in the market.

I think the previous post hit the nail on the head If you use your computer for most of the sample development the 1k is the way to go. I still take samples off my TTX1 with the MPC but I just write them to the card and do most of my modification in sound forge. The usb storage is fast and well executed and 128meg of sample memory is a major factor for me. I would add that it is a lot easier to schlep about.

If you're going to be using your computer alot, I would most likely go with the 1k, if the computer isn't in your setup, I'd get the 2k. The 1k seems more designed to be used extensively with a computer.

well thats your opinion and i respect it but the facts are out there. PSII had the video game market last year. The biggest and best selling games last year and previous came from psII. I agree xbox may have more power but none of the best games in the industry came out of xbox, minus a few.

Thats just like saying mpc4000 is the best mpc out there and has the most compatible all in one monster drum machine for hiphop. blah blah blah stuff. WHICH IS TRUE but then again what has it done? It didnt come out until 2001 and as far as im concerned the best years of rap music died in 1996. There was no mpc4000 until 2001. Hiphop had its best sound and vibe even way before xl came out in 98.

I wont deny it. mpc4000 is the most powerful but then again the greatest music came out of the mpc3000 era of 1994.

So back to my main point. Xbox has all the power and capability to deliver the best looking games out there, however PSII which aint as powerful is still killing xbox power.

Thats the exact way i look at musical instruments. It really aint about whats the best out there but what you can do with what you got. George clinton and parliament get thrown all these machines free of charge but at the end of the day. they go back to thier 4track recorders. If it aint broke dont fix it.

You cant say there is a condom out there thats the best for sex. If you dont know how to have sex or learn from watching porn, you cant have sex with a super condom out there that does all the job for you. it all boils down to the main thing. SEX. same thing, it all boils down to the main thing. MUSIC.
There is never a such a thing as the best equipment to make music.
