Is the 1K reading the whole 256MB??? I'm getting a 1K in a couple of weeks and I really don't wanna come off $110 for memory unless I really have no other choice.

No, it's only reading 128mb but it's still half the price of what Akai charges.

I've got a 512 pc133 stick at home. Been sitting there for a long time. When I get home from work I'll see if it's 4chip, and if it is, I'll try installing it.

I dropped in the PNY 256MB pc133 stick..seems to work just fine..mem test twice, and samples...detected as 128MB.

AND, it has 8 chips. So don't let that hold you back.

i got the one from micro center and it wouldnt fit. i bought the exact one that was listed as working a few pages back and it wouldnt fit in. it jsut seemed like a LITTLE bit too big, not even to big it just seemed like it wouldnt fit for some odd reason. anyone having the same problem?

Gotta ask: did you check that the key-hole was in the right place?

There's no other RAM that's "close" in size to the 144pin SODIMM. It should fit, or it's obvious it won't fit.
