mpc to studio monitors

I'm having trouble! I got a Mpc1000 And i got it hooked up straight to the studio monitors ..It sounds real low but when I hook my fantom keyboard up to the moniters it sound great.. could it be the cables I'm using ? I got some cheap cables from radio shack ..any suggestions? I appreciate it..

Did you check the master level yet? MPC1000 manual page 100...
