hi guys,

i just bought an mpc studio and i'm learning to use it.
i would like to hook up a midi keyboard to the mpc software, so i can use the keys for the VSTs and the mpc studio pads for the drums.

by browsing the web, i could not find info on the topic.

the thing is, some days ago i was looking at the website of an online music shop, and they had a good price for the m-audio axiom 49. because i was not sure about the compatibility, i did not make the purchase.

do you guys know how to set such a thing up in mpc studio software, along the mpc studio controller?

i am familiar with ableton, where you can have quite a few midi controllers connected, but i don't know how to do that in mpc.

thanks.

You sure can.

with the MPC software open. click on Edit/ preferences then midi (I think)
You will see MPC port 1 ticked or MPC public Unticked.

Once you have plugged in your midi keyboard it will appear in the list then you click to enable it.

Now

to use it, on the main screen, change the drums to plugins. select a program, then you can play the piano keys for the VST files.
