I just browsed thru the sourceforge site and some programs hit me. I tried them and find one of them very useful. Its a utility for big samplelibraries (folders and folders of drumsamples for example). It searches thru the folder and subfolders and categorize the samples based on the name. If there is "kik", "bd", "Kickdrum" or whatever you like in the filename the file is recognized as a Kickdrum and so on. You can simply go thru all the kickdrums then and hit space to mark them as favourite.
You can add categories and set terms for that category.

should the Variety of Sound plug ins work on the MPC Renaissance?

I had a quick go last night (copied the .dll file into a folder and pointed the MPC software at it in the preferences) and it didn't work.

just wondering if I should persevere or if its just not going to happen.

V7.12 (2017) is completely free. Any version above that has shareware limitations.
This is the one I have on my studio pc.

Hey I'm very impressed about this PC version! The perfomance of this piece of software is so mch better than my old Audition 1.5 (at least at huge files. I just put in a few 1-2 GB field recordings to normalize and save as FLAC and it was a pleasure to see how fast it can be)

I needed a better way to preview my big ass samples collection.
MAAAAANNN, I ran up on this software tonight that I will use forever and fifteen days now.

This shit is great. Basic player is free so I went with that. (I didn't get the pro). I am blown away. It's fast, no slowdown, clean, not cluttered and simply awesome. Who else here uses this? Maybe a lot of people and I am JUST now finding out.
