I've got a situation where I could purshase the 2500 or 5000. The 2500 cosmetically isn't a (lol) hundred percent good but it functions great. The 5000 is in great condition but my homeboy never really flowers wit the machine heavy like that so it's in great condition. He's buys equipment and sometimes doesn't even utilize the equipment heavy like that ya know. However, he gave me a price on both units and he wanted a specific price for the 2500 and if I didn't want to purchase the 2500 he was gonna charge me an additional $550 more within the original offer he gave me for the 2500 that was gonna go within the 5000 if I was gonna purchase that instead. I've personally heard great things about the 2500 and the 4000 but I've never really heard nothin really solid when it came to the 5000 unit. I already have a original 2000 MP so I honestly was just curious within both units ya know. But HONESTLY.... WHAT WOULD BE THE BETTER PRODUCT TO PURCHASE WITHIN THE 2500 SERIES OR THE 5000??? What's the PRO's and CON's within these units.

just take a look at the mpc5000 section of the forum... it's more complaints and issues than actual praise... i'd say the 2500 is probably better for the money. the 5000 even had members experiencing smoke coming from the machine and BS like that...

DIRTY DOZ.

get the 5k, just make sure he bought it from a real dealer, so if ish pops off, you can get a new one for free.

The 2500 sounds like shit hitting the bottom of a metal trashcan.

at least the 5k has a great tone to it.

The 2500 is very similar to the MPC 1000 with the JJOSXL installed. In any case the JJos is an intuitive operation system for the MPC unmatched by any other MPC aside from the 4000 and assorted rackmount samplers.

But,

The 5000 has 960ppqn resolution while the 2500 only has 96. The 5000 also has a larger screen, a built in synth, and a hard disk recorder.

At this point I'd buy the 5000. I have a 1k with JJosxl and it's very nice but I can't ever get my drums to sit exactly as I would like them due to the 96ppqn resolution. I also hear 2500's are prone to damage.

all you have to do is go online and see what everyone is saying. i was in your position and i had the choice of these two. had i done a bit more research i would have found that the true competition was between the 2500 and the 4000. so now you know what i think you should do. 2500, all the way.

also, read this:

the 5000.
Its actually the worst MPC in its line.

That's total BS! The 2500 is no different then the 2500 except for the obvious. The 2500 is good because of JJOS. One day the 5000 will be open source. Can you imagine a 5000 with JJOS?

Keep dreaming...

The 5000 will NEVER run a JJOS.

Get the 5000.

The 2500 is for girls and sissy's.

You a man right????????.

The 5000 gets a bad rep on here because these homeboys cannot afford one so they hate it and would rather persuade you to buy a used MPC off EBAY.

BE A FUKKIN ANIMAL.

DON'T GET JJ...........................IT STANDS FOR JAPENESE JAPSEYE

OK. ill do it. I gotta have my buddy swing thru.

What it does, is not simply a biproduct of the sample as it was sampled.

The sound issues I have with the 1000/2500 sound engine is what it does when you pitch shift the samples.

They do not stay accurate in pitch and volume equally in the 1000/2500

it loosed volume at lower pitches, and also has many filter clicks and pops you have to work around.

Ill do it tho.

you'll freak when you hear the 1000 vs the 3000. whole different world.
