Help with MPC 2500 and Dark Time

Hi! Maybe you guys can help me with this. I have synced up the MPC-2500 as master to Doepfer Dark Time as slave. Mode is set to Midi Clock but when I press play on the MPC the first click(time signature set to 4/4) begins on step 8 on the Dark Time. Not on step 1 but when I press record and play/start on the MPC then it begin from step 1 from Dark Time. So if I have a bass drum beat in 4/4 and press play then it starts the first bass drum on step 8 on Dark Time. It was a site who recommended setting mode on the MPC to Midi Time Code and frame set to 25 but then nothing happens. Little newbie to this. Thanks
