The interface is the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, which has ADAT I/O for up to 8 channels.

I was wondering could you use the 2500's Main Stereo Outs into the Saffire Pro 40's Inputs 1 & 2 (L=1, R=2) for monitoring purposes, then when you get ready to multitrack the 2500, use the Digital Out & connect to the Saffire ADAT In... & record up to 8 simultaneous tracks?

The Saffire Pro 40's manual says once the Saffire is setup in the DAW, that DAW tracks #11-20 will receive ADAT tracks #1-8.

So could this be a feasible way to record

mpc kick ----> adat track 1 (daw track 11)
mpc snare -> adat track 2 (daw track 12)
mpc hats ---> adat track 3 (daw track 13)
mpc toms --> adat track 4 (daw track 14)
and so on until 8 tracks are used...

Doesn´t work.

What works is this: MPC individual outs -> ADAT interface (e.g. Behringer ADA8200) analog inputs, ADAT interface digital out -> Saffire ADAT input.

So using the Behringer ADA8200 for example, I could just plug all 8 MPC Assign outs to it... plug the MPC Stereo Outs to the Saffire and be able to live monitor/record all 10 outs? (8 assign outs + stereo out)

MPC 1-8 Assign Outs -> ADA8200 1-8 Inputs
ADA8200 Digital Out -> Saffire Digital Input

MPC Stereo Out -> Saffire Inputs 1 & 2

Thanks for the insight man!
