Basic starter things

Hello guys just to get clear im new to the mpc world my uncle gifted me an mpc 2500 special edition and i started messing with it and i can not understand how to load sounds to specific pads you hit the mode button then pad 2 y find the sound and then what?
My mpc runs jjos 3.10 btw.
Thanks for any help im really gratefull.

go to LOAD mode
load a SAMPLE
go to PROGRAM mode
hit a pad
move the cursor to the big blank area in the middle of the screen and rotate the dial
it will assign that sound to that pad

that's the gist of it. load sounds into memory, then build a program to use those loaded sounds.
