Probably stupid

I know that this is probably a stupid qwestion but is there any other way to load from cd or dvd without the optional drive? Like can I hook up a regular cd/dvd drive to the back of the 2500's usb (like the scsi cd drives do on the xl)? I havent read all of the manual, hell, I've been working all week and really have'nt had a chance to get into the 2500 but I just thought I would ask. any help would be cool here.

only via a pc, the usb on the back of the mpc is a slave port, therefore you cannot connect any external drives of any sort.
