Yo,

first post here

I thought I will mention my recent sound test between different hardware samplers and 1 software sampler.
Might help some people trying to find comparisons and info on old skool samplers.

Damn I forgot how good the Emus sound. Had the E64 back in the 90s. Every filter you need and more was standard with the Emus while the AKAIs still had only LoPass.
And the user interface was great and easy to understand. Also the ability to connect a PC keyboard made it easy to name the saples and "remote control" the functions. Dope gear.

Thanks for the sounddemos

Yeah Emus have nice sound - it's one of my favourites. I agree that the whole sampler user experience is great because of the big screen(even better with keyboard). Emu Eos software is something to get your head around, but when you do it offers amazing possibilities (modulation routing-cords). Much more options with filters/mod than Akais. The E64 that you had would be 2 generations earlier to e6400 ultra and has a darker, grittier sound (so they say) due to different converters used.

Slightly off topic but ...

My EPS 19.5 kHz with max freq settings on 6.67 vs Decimort 2. Look how close I can zone in just by using the resampling knob and freq deviation and filter knob.

First loop is untouched. Second loop is EPS. Next loops are all just decimort trying to simulate the EPS.
