Hey guys.

Is there a step sequencer anywhere in JJOS big screen pay for version?

Sort of after an old school sequencer where you get 16 steps and you can chance pitch of each step.

Im sure this was in JOS2 my mate had. But I get seriously confused with the versions of this.

TYPO - Ive got the pay for big screen edition (I used to say XL screen but that confuses things even further).

Thanks for taking the time to post those links mate. Appreciated.

meh ive come to the conclusion that if you want xox style sequencing, youll go a long way out of your way to make it happen if you only have the mpc to work with. might as well buy a reliable midi step sequencer. i have great results with my elektron monomachine with its xox style interface. the sequencer is as tight as the mpc as well. the best thing about it is that i can just record into the mpc when im ready. oh yeah, track mute functions from the pads work well with external control as well.

Hi MPC Forum,
I would like to introduce myself, this being my first post ever on this very important and alive community.
Thank you,

I bought the MPC 2500 in January 2014 (MPCStuff) and so far I am so very please with the JJOS XL128 standard screen, update to 3.42.
So far I am able to get my head around much of the more frequented operations, but Step sequencing have me scratching my head...
Loch did say big screen
TYPO Grid Edit examples are also what I tried but was not satisfied with results.
I would really like to cross this bridge as well.
I also own Elektron Octatrack, yes! Step Seq on it is ah breeze but I will like to get similar with MPC.

TYPO -

No man, thats was when I was asking for the Xox/TR style sequencer.

This time I am asking about a step sequencer.

There different. Or at least in the real world away from JJOS they are.

313 -

Yes Im starting to think your right. If I want a xox seq ill have to buy one sigh! This is irritating as my mate had such a thing on an earlier carnation of JJOS

BTW - In this thread I am after a step sequencer, for melodies not xox for drums. But you point is still relevant.

ShoRoc -

Sorry I cant help you fella. Im as baffled as the next man.

good thing it works crazy good. but if you have an octatrack, theres no need for an mpc. of course i dont have an OT and am happy to use my mpc this way. theyre both top notch sequencers. theres no lag or jitter that i can tell. it feels way solid even compared to the computer.

I watched the vid. That actually is step sequencing. You locate to each step/tick and hit the pad to sequence/place that pad/sample in. Also the vid showed note editing on pad/track, ie velocity, which I guess is a mixture of STEP EDIT style.

I ignored the LOOP EDIT MODE title of the vid cause in my eyes that's not what it is. It might not be what you envision or want but, that's what the vid is.

Find a web vid that shows your vision of what step sequencing is/should be so we can compare and brainstorm or something.

I agree its a step sequencer. In the other thread TYPO was on about it was a TR sequencer I was after and was recommended the same thing.
