To record a MIDI track I use normally REC+START. This allows to program a new track while erasing at the same time what was recorded before.
To make things easier I got a footswitch and assigned it to the function REC+START. The manual shows the options in

But the footswitch setting REC+START doesn't seem to work !!!
Basically even though it is set as REC+START, the footswitch behaves like OVERDUB+START. And as such it will keep adding new sequence elements without removing the older ones....
(I am using the simple and classic Yamaha FC5 pedal).
Am I ignoring something, or is there a way to solve this problem ??
