lost password for jjos2xl

Hi guys, brought an mpc 1000 and its got jjos2xl installed and asks for password.

am i right to assume that the guy brought it and i need the password off him?

or its free and i have to pay jjos to get a password?

and i suppose the next question is,if he brought it and i cant get the password how do i get a new password considering they are unique to a specific unit?

It only asks you for a password if he never paid for JJ OS2XL.

It's just the demo version, the password is stored permanently in the machine so if it isn't there now, it never has been. You can install the free JJOS instead or buy one of the paid versions. You might be able to automatically boot into the free JJOS by holding down TAP TEMPO while you turn on the machine. Just make sure you get the latest version for your MPC.
