Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

I am not a computer tech or anything but I found that if you rename samples to a simplified name you have a better chance of getting it to work in the MPC500.... Example= CiscoHiHatClosed01 to CscHHc01 works better for me... and it has to be 16bit 44.1 to start... But if somebody could explain Rex Files I would appreciate it a lot, can the 500 play them?

It came up as the first Google hit for me too. Maybe someone with a Windows PC needs help! The way I did it was using iTunes (allowing it to be done in bulk).

Go to preferences>import settings>WAV encoder + custom and change the settings. Then select all the files you want converted, go to file>convert>create WAV version.

Update your MPC to OS 1.31. Files don't have to be 44.1, my MPC500 loads 44, 32 and 22 khz..

I use this free app for converting audio files, it's great; http://www.mediahuman.com/audio-converter/
It also does batch conversion...
