Crackling sound in recorded audio!

Hey!

i recorded a test beat through main into the mpc and saved it. i connected it to my pc to listen to the final beat but there is crackling in the audio and I really need to know what's causing it. i got 16 mb ram tho and could that be the cause?

connect it to the speakers directly, it could be any number of things in your pc causing the crackling.

if its a ram problem you'd be getting random crashes are weird distorted samples.

annother cause if the crackling comes from the mpc could be badly recorded samples.

but i'd bet its something simple like nasty old cables or the volume being too high for the soundcard.

plug in a pair of headphones and listen to the mpc output directly.

Thanks everyone but I think it's the cf card. i got the default ram and a 2 gig flashcard from mpcstuff tho when I record into the 2 gig cf card it gets distorted but not when change it to my standard 128 mb. i've already ordered a new one
