Mpc500 help please !!

Hi Everyone,
Iv just purchased a second hand mpc500. The unit didn't come with an os installed. I went to the Akai site and d/l the os. I then transferred it to a CF card, an error saying CF: Bad Format comes up when I boot the mpc, I am holding the shift key down on start up. I have tried formatting the CF card in different ways, FAT/FAT32 etc, I probably have to format the CF card in the mpc, the problem is how do you format it when theres no os installed to get to the function. The cf card is 2gb in size, Cheers

You would have to find another MPC500 and format it in there. Try local pawn shops and asked to test out their 500.

You can try to format the card in a MPC1000 and see what happens. I know people hot swap CF cards between the 1000 and 500.
