Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hey guys,

I'm recording drum breaks from vinyl, on the MPC500, but I can only record in stereo. The manual says I can record in mono but from the left side only. Since I'm recording drums from a stereo source, ie vinyl, I'd like to record both inputs as one mono file; This is possible in most daws but I can't figure it out on the mpc500. I don't want to convert the stereo file to mono after I record them because it will not sound as good as recording them in mono the first time.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Really?

Yes drums must be recorded in mono or else they won't sound as good. Any engineer will consign that. This applies to live drums as well as sampling from records.

If anyone knows how to do this please help.
