Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

What is the best way to set up the MPC to computer so that I can record into the computer and not just in the MPC. I would like to be able to record over tracks in a computer software.... preferably audacity... but this is seeming to be impossible. Anyone done this before? how?

Interface main outs go to speakers that have an amp inside (active monitors)
or
interface main outs can go to an amp which will then feed speakers connected to it.

Yeah, the USB port on the 500 is only to transfer data. Same method as loading an mp3 player. But not for realtime audio playing.

Like Lamp says, you gonna need an interface in order for your computer to record audio to your DAW.

Cheap methods are connecting the Main Outs of the 500 to the mic input of your computer, but you risk quality. Or just transfer files via USB.

Just resample your song... And export your newly recorded wav file via usb to your computer...
