Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Is there a way to soften up or make more responsive the pads of the 500 first gen? I know how to use all the functions like Velocity Speed Attack, etc, but suggestions are welcome.

I'm talking about a home modification method. It's getting harder to use, and it's hurting my hands.

Please do not post "Buy x pads in x store" because I'm not able.

Thanks! :)

For my part, I constantly use the "full level" mode, it prevents me from hitting the pads with punches ....
I lose velocity, but it is still possible to work the velocity of a particular pad with the "12 levels" mode.

If you're looking for a cheap trick to improve pad response, some do this by opening the machine and placing small squares of scotch tape (or other materials) between the underside of the pads and the contactors.
I never tried but it seems a good idea.

I have tried this and it works very good! But to get more sensitivity you need ~6 layers of tape under every pad.
