Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hello all,

I've recently bought a second hand mpc500 and I want to know if there is a way to toggle samples.
I play live electronics, ambient and free improvised music.
I've used many samplers and since the beginning, I've used a master keyboard with pieces of tapes to keep pressed keys with loops...so this was funny and creative but right now, Is there a way to hold or toggle samples on this machine using it stand alone?
I found that in the program I can set the play mode of a pad to "one shot", but in this case I have to re-trigger the sample any time to restart because if the sample loop is ON, doesn't work...

Any advice or work around is very welcome.
Thanks!
Daniele

LOOP WITHOUT HOLDING PAD - In Trim Mode, set the sample LOOP to ON, then adjust your Start and End points until your sample is perfect. Now go to the Main page hitting SEQUENCE and hold SHIFT then the pad with the sample. Voila, your sample loops without hands. You can do this to multiple samples and layer loops without overdub.

STOP LONG CONTINUOUS PLAYING SAMPLES - Hold SHIFT and hit STOP.

Super! thanks a lot!

Cool, make sure LOOP is ON and that its set to NOTE ON, it will not work if set to ONE SHOT.
