I played on that thing for awhile when I was in Guitar center today and I underestimated the 500,I thought it was crap and the "CD5" preset that is loaded in it has a crazy sample I've never heard.....I could'nt beleive my ears.....I might wait til its on ebay next year and pick one up....the price shall be down by then......anotha thing that sucker is smaller than I thought....and a question....could you use that thing by itself? for example if the only thing in your setup is the MPC 500 and a keyboard....will that suit your needs....or do you need a brother of the MPC to go along with it?

Yeah.....you could use it with just a keyboard. It's not a requirement that you have a bigger mpc to use the 500 effectively. :D
