Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

My mpc500 was having problems running on rechargeable Duracell batteries. I was getting a constant whining sound when scrolling thru menu's, and the machine would freeze etc. So i called akai tech support yesterday and they told me it is a problem with my rechargeable batteries., I was using Duracell rechargeables. So i bought regular energizer lithium batteries and so far so good. I dont even hear the whine anymore when scrolling. Also tech support told me that they might post on the akai site not to use any rechargeable batteries. Hey, if anyone is having success with rechargeable batteries, be it no crashing , high pitch whine sound when scrolling etc. let us know the model # for the batteries.
Thanks- just a heads up. peace

I use energizer rechargable batteries and they work great. No problems.

I'm gonna check into a few things concerning the whining sounds and I'll get back with you on them. 8)
