What is this port in MPC500? HD interface?

its the slot for the "akai EXM128" expasion memory card. The 128mb memory expansion card

note! : It's not an hd slot

Yes on the leftsidethe slot is for the 128EXM

What I am saying here is the connector on the rightside, which is quite similar to a HD connector

I think somebody said they thought it was a "Service" port, that makes total sense to me.

Can we install other RAM without being from AKAI? (like kingston, as I heard before)

Yes. I use a Kingston 256MB RAM stick
