Turn on your mpc 5k
1. press input thru button
2. press go2fx 2 times
3. start playing with your Qlink faders, knobs, and buttons
4. use pad1, pad5, pad9 and pad13 to move each section to the right.

No seriously, ...just make some beats and you will usually find a problem if there is one eventually. Is this what u mean?

Also like he said above.. check every button pad, and knob, every input, output etc... if you suspect something is wrong I think if you search for some guy named Armen he's in NYC, he could probably repair it, ship it out to him. Also theres a handful of people out there who deal specifically with refurbishing and repairing old mpcs and keyboards, replacement parts, etc
