The 5000 causes the sounds (on the track that I am currently on) of my external devices to latch (ex: like the notes freeze/hold) and I have to restart the mpc. It happens often. The first mpc I had did the same thing and I returned it. My new one does it also, anyone else have this issue ??

Yes i found why, i also though it was a bug or something wrong with my unit first.
I guess you r using an external synth plugged in an IN & OUT port.
Make sure you don t use the same midi channel for the IN & the OUT :
ie : the keyboard transmit on channel 1, the sound module receive on channel 2
Also i set the SOFT THRU fonction to " AS TRACK "
