You got me sold on the Nanokey Studio now Coz. I've read a bit about it on other forums. But I needed to hear how good this combo works out from a hardware user's perspective. What makes it worth the purchase is the fact that Gadget on it's own is capable of a lot more than any hardware groovebox. The price of the controller is a bit high. But given that Gadget cost a fraction of that and it delivers more bang for the buck (while running a whole bunch of gadgets), I can definitely justify the price, especially with the automapping and bluetooth. If I wanted a hardware equivilant to Gadget, I'd have to buy a whole table full of Volcas which still cant compare to what the gadgets do. Plus the portability of an iPad and the Nanokey studio can't be beat. Definitely making the Nanokey Studio my next purchase.

Cool DT. :smoker:

I didn't expect it to end up being like a quasi-groovebox, but that's basically what it is. I cut my teeth on those machines so to have something with way better software is a huge bonus.

Alot of that sounds like something Sunrizer can already do.
Magellan also.

I'm only groove literate so I get a bit lost with keys and scales, but it does seem to have all those bases covered. 15 different scales and up to 7 different keys per scale. Major and minor pentatonic, along with blues, Chinese and Ryukyu if that's your bag. The lights under the keys give you a few pointers if you can decipher them.

I was an appaholic for about 3 months and then I put myself into a 12 step program and I'm good now.

I still drool but I know how to step away now.

Magellan is powerful, but Sunrizer is just so damn sleek looking it keeps calling my name. iPolysix is the same way, nostalgic and sleek looking.
