A few observations from that vid...

The swing settings seem like your bog standard swing from any old MPC. Someone mentioned that they've incorporated the swing from the MPC 5000 which has a strength setting (so I've heard?), but also JJXL has a strength setting which is a very nice thing to have. Also if you're going to repeat the line "legendary swing" multiple times in every vid, don't then keep making demo tunes with the swing set at 50%!

Secondly, the export settings don't seem to have enough options. You can export in MPC 5000, 2500 and 1000 program and sequence files, but what about the other MPCs? Andy clearly states that the software will be able to import ANY program file from any MPC, so why not be able to export? If ram is a concern then surely they can at least add the 4000 to that list?

There also doesn't seem to be the option to export single programs or sequences as stems, but the greyed out box at the bottom of the export window may open those options up. Let's hope so.

Other than that, it's another video showing the software being controlled almost entirely with the mouse, which some people may be pissed about!

This guy is so damn bothered. What I dont understand is that... if he loves his beat thang, why is that not enough for him? why he so damn mad about the REN? OK fella... in your opinion the Ren aint shit! and the beat thang is KANG! so what u upset about the REN for if you own the machine of your preference? make beats much? or do you just turn on and look at the purty grillz and blue lights? make music fella!

The thing is none of this shit is essential to live your life. if u got the one you want. whats the beef? its like a bmw owner whining about a new benz "it dont even come in red SON!"

b-righteous wrote:While on the subject of chops. Will there be a way to have chops overlap? Even if it is after slicing is applied to a program, could you expand the start/end regions of the individual chops the length of the whole sample? What about duplicating a pad and then setting the start end markers separate for each pad?

A couple of threads back a duplicate function was requested and Dan added it in with a dedicated button like maschine.

true story. SHIFT - PAD ASSIGN is now PAD COPY

Good one.

So will this also work after slicing? Another words, does slice create a new sample restricted to the slice region(truncated) or can you expand the regions to the original sample? Both ways have an advantage but just trying to see.

it copies the pad parameters, but uses the same samples. you can, however, extract individual slices directly to pads, and decide if you want it destructive, or non-destructive. nondestructive, you can adjust the start / end after the fact, but it takes more ram.
