Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.
Years ago, I used the MPC16 for drum programming. It was the 80s, my daughter wasn't a mother and I had hair then.
I'm back to it now with the MPC Studio. I'm trying to find out about step editing to create snare & tom flams. It's been a while. Help?

I would have thought the easiest way to create a flam would be to play one in real time. If you can't do it on one pad, assign your snare to two pads and play the flam using two fingers. Ideally use two timbre variations of the snare to make it sound more realistic (if using one pad, assign them to two different layers and set the pad to CYC). Set T.C. to OFF.

I found tossing a delay on one if the inputs as a FX 16th note is just enough to give it that flam / flutter you can even adjust the dry/wet to get a little heavier hands on the hit.
