How do I use the MPC Renaissance as a plugin in cubase 9

I'm trying to use the MPC Renaissance as a plugin in cubase. I create a instrument track in cubase to load the MPC Renaissance plugin. I load some samples in the MPC Renaissance. I press the pads I hear the audio but no midi data is being recorded on the instrument track. Is there anyway I can press the pads to trigger the samples and have it record as midi data on the cubase instrument track
