Hey..
Having a strange issue with recording vocals through the ren (using both the mpc software and a 3rd party (using the ren as a soundcard)) .. the vocals sound harsh and distorted as they would if clipping was occurring (which it isn't) .. I've tried multiple chains all leading to this same result.
I've ran the leads directly into the ren and tried 3 mics this way .. a Rode NT1a .. a Shure Beta 78a .. i thought maybe its because they are condensers so turned off the phantom and hooked up the SM58 .. all produced a distorted vocal ... I tried running it through pre amps before it hit the ren and though a digital mixer too with no change. I've also tried different leads.
Has anyone else experienced this? surely both the inputs on my ren aren't shot?
