OK this is weird, just seeing if anyone else had a similar experience. I like to lay my forearm on my desk, which is right at the perfect spot to shock the poo out of me. All along the seam on the front. Tried an unpowered USB hub and connecting The MPC directly to my pc. It started off annoying but it's getting worse. When I run my finger over the front seam, all I can feel is a little static electricity, but when my whole forearm touches the front seam of the MPC, ZAP! It's painful.

No funny smells, unit still works fine other than the stop button has to be pressed hard. Can't see how the stop button would be related. Unit doesn't get hot.

Is it just mine or is this a known problem?

don't leave plugged in while not playing with it. you have an issue. and fire should be your first worry.
